The final four SXSWedu Distinguished Speakers for March 4-7, 2013 in Austin, Texas have been announced! They are Founder and Chairman of The Carver Academy David Robinson, Texas Commissioner of Education Michael Williams, Co-Founder and Executive Director of CK-12 Foundation Neeru Khosla and Director of Education for U.S. Programs with the MacArthur Foundation Constance Yowell.

In addition to the prominent names wrapping up the 2013 Distinguished Speakers, SXSWedu has also revealed a number of exciting new social and networking events. The new programming includes the Google Lounge & Co-Working Space, the SXSWedu Blogger Lounge hosted by Compass Learning, Breakfast in the Park, a number of Meet Ups and more!

SXSWedu Introduces the 2013 LAUNCHedu Emcees

SXSWedu recently announced the 2013 LAUNCHedu emcees who will lend their talents and expertise on the rapidly expanding education marketplace at the LAUNCHedu competition during SXSWedu. EdSurge co-founder Betsy Corcoran, Trinity Education Group partner and CIO Clyde Boyer, GSV founder and managing partner Deborah Quazzo, and Trinity Education Group founder and CEO Hugh Norwood, will emcee the event.

LAUNCHedu is the destination competition for education entrepreneurs occurring during the SXSWedu Conference & Festival. In addition to Bill Gates, the 2013 SXSWedu Conference & Festival will feature keynote remarks from Asenath Andrews, the inspirational founder and principal of the Catherine Ferguson Academy in Detroit, Michigan on Tuesday, March 5. Award-winning writer with The New York Times, Laura Pappano, will moderate a keynote conversation addressing Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) featuring Coursera co-founder Andrew Ng and edX President Anant Agarwal on Wednesday, March 6.
