Every March, creatives of all stripes gather in Austin to witness, share and inspire the visions that will galvanize the filmmakers and ideas of tomorrow. SXSW Film Conference & Festival champions the vitality, innovation and opportunity that drives the entertainment and media landscape, and boldly tackles the evolution of all aspects of “film” today, down to its very definition.
A nexus of discovery and collaborative energy, SXSW Film celebrates the art and business of the possible.
Kick start your SXSW day by grabbing free breakfast each morning at the Java Monster Café, located in the Registrants Lounge at 4th & Neches, March 9-16. Monster Energy will be offering complimentary Java Monster Coffee + Energy drinks to all registrants and wristband holders, which will provide you with enough energy to last the long day ahead. Come by and enjoy the food and Java Monster, mingle, and listen to some music.
There are lots of you-had-to-be-there moments at SXSW; when so many people from the film, interactive, music and comedy worlds hang out in the same place, amazing things happen. If only there was some way to record it all...
Comedy fans, get ready for a week of live podcast recordings (alongside SXSW Comedy's packed schedule of standup, improv and sketch showcases, panels and parties). We begin with the historic Paramount Theatre, located between 7th & 8th St on Congress Ave. An Austin landmark, this grand old building seats 1200 people, and is our largest venue. Nearly a century old, the Paramount will again host Headliners and red carpet events, including festival opener The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, as well as repeat screenings, 24 Beats per Second, and our closing night film, The East.
Back again for SXSW 2013, Built features another exciting series of discussions featuring innovators and creators. Join us at Next Stage for this Make & Tell event as these builders reveal their design process and showcase their inventions. Stick around after their short presentations for a meet and greet with the designers and their creations!
We are proud to announce American Airlines as the Official Airline Sponsor of SXSW Music, Film and Interactive.
