While all SXSW Film Conference sessions fall under one of our four tracks, every session also has a format. Ranging from one-on-one mentor sessions to hands-on workshops to panels with up to four industry experts, session formats let you explore and learn about the Film Conference programming in a different way.

Featured Speakers
These high profile sessions spotlight key people and trends germane to the SXSW and filmmaking communities. Sessions include our Conversations with iconic and forward-thinking filmmakers, actors and industry leaders, moderated by a prominent journalist, academic or fellow creative.

Keynote sessions present a diverse lineup of visionaries from the film industry to deliver insightful speeches that aim to inspire, empower, and reveal.

Meet Ups
Meet your next collaborator, business partner or new best friend over drinks and snacks at one of our Film Meet Ups.

Mentor Sessions
Always popular, always essential, film mentor sessions offer attendees one-on-one interaction with industry experts, including filmmakers programmers, distributors and more. Advance sign up is required.

Panels make up the bulk of the Film Conference sessions and cover a wide spectrum of subjects and themes. Typically comprised of three or four expert panelists, plus a moderator, panels range from beginner to advanced levels and offer great insight in the the art and business of film and entertainment.

Round Tables
New for 2016, Round Tables bring together three industry experts and SXSW attendees for an informal and enlightening discussion on a specific topic.

Workshops let you get your hands a little dirty, providing a more interactive conduit to the practical knowledge and inspiration you need to move ahead in the industry, or just to get a handle on new trends.
