Throwback Thursdays highlight the diverse and innovative programming at the SXSW Film Conference, and this week music and sound design take center stage with a 2012 conversation between Brian Satterwhite and acclaimed composer and former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer, Cliff Martinez.
Martinez received massive critical praise for producing the soundtrack to Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive, (and more recently Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers), and he goes into great detail about the Drive soundtrack in this conversation. You can listen to the session in its entirety on this page.
The only way to enjoy the full spectrum of engaging, diverse programming like this is to register for a SXSW Film, Gold or Platinum Badge and attend the conference. Don’t forget, our first conference programming announcement is coming on October 15th, with some exciting new elements added to the SXSW Film conference experience. Stay tuned to this blog for details!
