Los Angeles skateboarder turned singer-songwriter Hanni El Khatib released his second album, Head In The Dirt, this past April on Innovative Leisure. The album was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, and has received generally positive reviews since its release. PopMatters said of the album “...his deviations from the formula are among Dirt‘s highlights.” Commenting on the overall feel of his sound, Khatib describes his songs as being for anyone who has ever been shot or hit by a train.
Khatib will be touring the US and Canada through September and October, including two stops in Texas. The artist is set to play a show at The Parish this October 18 with another former SXSW performer Bass Drum of Death.
