Qualifying Committee, Coaches and On-site Coaches
We are grateful to all the regional and national experts serving as part of the 2016 Accelerator Qualifying Committee, Coaches and On-Site Coaches for the SXSW Accelerator event.
Accelerator Advisory Board
We were fortunate enough to have over 70 national and international experts on the 2016 Accelerator Advisory Board that assist in many aspects of our event.
This year’s application pool of over 470 entries came from all over the globe. We had a number of domestic applicants from all over the country and the highest percentage of those startups came from Austin, San Francisco, New York, and Chicago. Internationally, we received applications from the Netherlands, Germany, Israel, Korea, and France – just to name a few.
How did the competition unfold? On Saturday, March 12 a total of 48 Interactive technology companies captivated a live audience, a panel of judges, and co-emcees in Round One with their ideas, innovations, products, and/or services. These 48 companies were selected by the SXSW Screening Committee from the hundreds of startups from around the world who applied before the Sunday, November 9, 2015 deadline.
On Sunday, March 13 the field of 48 was narrowed down to the top 18 startups that returned to present to a new set of judges and co-emcees for Round Two. At the end of the day, these judges selected the winners for each category. The winners were announced at the SXSW Accelerator Awards.
