2013 SXSW Video Spotlight: Jane Pratt Encourages Bold Moves

Written by Hugh Forrest | September 16, 2013

Not enough high-profile women in high-profile speaking slots at high-profile tech conferences, you say? Then maybe you missed the "Secrets of a Publishing Renegade" talk from Jane Pratt at the 2013 SXSW Interactive Festival (or, for that matter, Paula Kerger's standout SXSW presentation about PBS). The founding editor of Sassy and Jane and the current editor of xoJane, Pratt focused on the importance of bold moves . "Surround yourself with people who are freakier than you are," she urged her SXSW audience. "You should only feel like a failure if you are not pissing off a lot of people."
