Gaming Data and the SXSW PanelPicker: An Intriguing Look Behind the Curtain

Check out all the gaming proposals in the SXSW PanelPicker

Gamers simply doing what they enjoy, create an enormous amount of data.  Theoretically, this data can inform all types of companies of the tendencies of a core demographic that their marketing programs may not be reaching via normal channels.

What are the implications of companies having access to your real-time game data and analytics? Is someone really watching you while you play the next big game? Are cameras just  innocent motion-gaming experiences or are they something more invasive?

For some of the more cool discussions on these topics, please check out “Big Brother is Watching: Tracking Today's Gamer" and “Playstation: Data at the Speed of Gaming” and the the various other gaming proposals in the 2014 SXSW Panel Picker. To easily find these proposals, just type in "game" or "gaming" in the search box in the upper left hand corner of the SXSW PanelPicker interface.

Don’t forget, adding your vote helps shape the narrative of the 2014 SXSW Gaming season. The first step in this process is signing up for a SXSW PanelPicker account, then you are all set. Be sure to get to the polls before the close at the end of the day on Friday, September 6!
