Last week was HUGE for us, as we announced a large portion of our 2014 programming for SXSW Gaming. There are so many wonderful sessions, that I’d like highlight a few, in hopes that you find them as intriguing as I have.
Press Start to Begin: UX and Video Games features gaming legend, Richard Garriott, Gaming Trend’s Michael Dunn and Ron Burke, and Cryek’s David Sinclair, and presents and interesting discussion on the importance of UX in game design and development.
A stellar look into how the tech community can inspire and provide role models to young women in the sciences, Hacking Princess Culture: Girls, Games, & Science offers insightful answers into some of the questions the parent’s may be facing with their daughters.
Finally, we are very happy to welcome back Susan O’Connor with her session Five Ways Games Blow our Minds - Outside of Games. This solo session discusses the emotional connection that the video games can provide, and how other mediums have been able to use these convention with great success.
I am very excited for all the sessions we have planned for this season; we have so many amazing speakers coming to share their knowledge and expertise. Check out the SXSW Gaming webpage for more announcements on sessions, panels, and speakers. And, as always, we look forward to seeing you for the 2014 season of SXSW Gaming.
