courtesy of the speakerThe SXSW Interactive Festival is very excited to announce the return of Former Vice President Al Gore. In March 2012, the Vice President inspired a standing-room-only SXSW audience with his declaration to occupy democracy during his conversation with Sean Parker. This year, he plans to shake things up again by exposing the six critical drivers of global change explored in his new book, The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change.
Released on January 29, The Future has already generated significant praise. Says two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and Harvard University professor E.O. Wilson: "This is a great book. From political policy and economics to science and the most thorny ethical issues, Al Gore has stated the human condition and the issues we face forthrightly, fearlessly and in easily understood language – and has said what must be done. I asked myself halfway through who else could have written a book of such magnitude. The only answer I could imagine was Thomas Jefferson."
Remember your high school home room? Well, it was never like this...

Rachel Maddow courtesy MSNBC
SXSW Interactive is proud and thrilled to announce that Rachel Maddow will speak on the featured session, A Conversation with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, at the Austin Convention Center in Exhibit Hall 5 on Sunday, March 10, at 12:30pm. The critically acclaimed host of MSNBC's The Rachel Maddow Show, and one of America’s leading progressive voices, Maddow will make her SXSW debut by bringing her signature wit and intelligence to a wide-ranging discussion on politics, pop culture, and the news of the day. She’ll discuss her New York Times bestselling book, Drift, and about how the new normal of constant U.S. military engagement around the globe affects civilian life and politics here at home.
SXSW Interactive is an amazing hub of creativity and innovation, driven by talented individuals who simply love their craft and few love their craft like the photographer. For 2013, we're excited to join forces with Lytro to present PhotoCamp at SXSW. With unique sessions on the evolution of photography, digital asset management and a Photographer Meet Up, you won't want to miss this very special day.
