Les Mentettes - "Suzanne": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Les Mentettes is an indie folk-rock band from Argentina led by singers Adrián Rivoira and Eugenia Brusa. They released their first full-length album, Let’s Mentettes, in 2008. Music conductor Manuloop rearranged their songs with an orchestra of over 30 musicians and in 2009 they recorded the album Les Mentettes Orchestra. In 2011 the band, now a hybrid of rock band and orchestra, released their third album, Song for an Imaginary Film. They are currently working on a 4th album to be released in june 2012 and producing a series of videos with different directors.

Coming from very different musical backgrounds, the band has a myriad of influences that range from Ziggy Stardust to Nina Simone and Brian Wilson. Adrián, Eugenia and most of the band members have known each other since they were 7 years-old as they went to school together. As kids, they had several cover bands and played at school concerts. It was only natural that they would eventually write songs together and form a band of their own. A band of friends, as they like to define it.
