French-born Tucson chanteuse Marianne Dissard premieres her live collaboration with Seattle producer/musician Budo (Rhymesayers, Grieves & Budo) @ SXSW 2013 in the Hotellounge (ICA) & Tucson Music Factory showcase w/ Spain.
Dissard's third album, "The Cat. Not Me" (2013), is a fierce and melancholy affair written with Sergio Mendoza (Y La Orkesta) who joins the ranks of previous composers Joey Burns (Calexico), Naïm Amor and Italian maestro Christian Ravaglioli. Since the release of "L'Entredeux" (2008) and "L'Abandon" (2010), the French-born artist has toured four continents backed by a rotating cast of Tucson sweethearts (Brian Lopez, Sergio Mendoza, Andrew Collberg, Gabriel Sullivan, Thøger Lund, Naïm Amor...).
Dissard's newly-launched label, Tucson Music Factory, has produced two official SXSW showcases this year, in partnership with Hotellounge (Intl. Concert Agency), Tucson Weekly and KXCI 91.3fm, and featuring Howe Gelb / Giant Giant Sand, Spain and acts from Tucson, Tasmania and France.
