NXNE, our fine and friendly pals to the north, will celebrate their 20th anniversary next June with their biggest festival to date.
North By Northeast expands to ten days starting June 13, 2014. New collaborations with VICE Media and Boiler Room will turn the city of Toronto into a music hub of legendary proportions.
Festival Director Christopher Roberts had this to say about the developments, "We are so excited to be working with these amazing media partners to amp up what NXNE has been doing for the past 20 years: presenting the latest and greatest in new music. I know what VICE and Boiler Room will bring to the festival will be nothing short of spectacular."
NXNE Film starts the event on June 13 with Interactive following on the 16th and Music anchoring on the 18th.
To mark the 20th anniversary, festival-goers can experience NXNE 2014 with the new all-encompassing Platinum pass, or with stream-specific wristbands for either Music, Interactive, Film, or Comedy. NXNE Art, returning for its second year, will be accessible with any wristband or pass. For more information and prices, visit nxne.com/tickets.
NXNE invites musicians, filmmakers, and comics to apply for a chance to be a part of one of the world’s premier arts festivals. Submissions will be accepted online only until January 31.
One of the world's premier events, NXNE draws 350,000 attendees and generates an annual economic impact of over $50 million for the city of Toronto.
So head on up next summer, y'all!
