SXSW Eco 2012 Hackathon - Photo by Amy Price Come take on SXSW Eco's 2013 Hackathon challenge presented by Verizon Foundation! We are currently looking for talented individuals or teams that can help change the way we view energy. The task: to hack a new mobile app within 24 hours that transforms the way people make energy decisions. Using a unique dataset of household energy use provided by the Pike Powers Lab, hackers must develop a creative way of illustrating the dataset while making the data interactive. Every hacker will receive a complimentary registration to SXSW Eco, and winning teams have a chance at a partnership with Pike Powers Lab to make the app commercially viable.

The SXSW Eco Hackathon is a great opportunity for hackers to learn, network and most importantly have fun. If you are a programmer, developer, coder or proud geek this challenge is for you! If you cannot attend the Hackathon in person, you can still sign up! We will be coordinating remote teams over video chat and by using Github and Hacker League. The winning designs will be showcased during the SXSW Eco Exhibition in the Hacker Lounge presented by The Cleanweb Initiative. Learn more about the Hackathon and sign up now!.
