SXSW Music Video Spotlight - Dog Bite "Prettiest Pill"

Written by Kristin Adams | July 14, 2013

The SXSW Music Festival brings you some of the most anticipated artists each year and fresh to SXSW Music is Atlanta-based band, Dog Bite. A combination of psychedelic and rock, Dog Bite's debut LP, Velvet Changes, captivates us with its alluring mysteriousness and dream-like lyrics. Released in February 2013 with Carpark Records, the 11-track album captures some kind of emotional and reflective conflict. See for yourself with this music video of their track "Prettiest Pill" and other SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artists on the SXSW Vimeo Channel.

Leading the band with dreads in tow is Atlanta's own Phil Jones. After dropping out of college to further pursue his calling in the music industry, Jones began Dog Bite on the road with inspiration from artists like Caribou and The Roots. Jones initially composed their music with help from fellow bandmate Woody Shortridge using an acoustic guitar and has now bloomed into the four-person rock band, Dog Bite.
