July marks the halfway point for the summer season but the music festival scene is still in full swing! Three days out of the year, each summer, Chicago plays host to the internationally recognized Pitchfork Music Festival. Of the 46 bands performing this year, 20 of them played at SXSW 2013.
It’s a big week for Brooklyn-based band Phosphorescent. Yesterday, they released news that they’re going to be joining Mumford & Sons on their Gentlemen of the Road tour. At the end of June, Time Magazine gave their track, “Song for Zula,” the #4 spot on their 25 Best Songs of 2013. They’ll be performing at Pitchfork this coming Saturday, July 20th.
London-based band Savages will also be making an appearance at Pitchfork on Saturday after releasing their latest album, Silence Yourself, this past May. KEN Mode will also be performing Saturday. They have several tour dates scheduled here in Texas throughout July before heading east to continue their tour. Their latest album, Entrenched, was released back in March.
