Yesterday The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their 2013 inductees. Rush, Heart, Randy Newman, Public Enemy, Donna Summer and Albert King will all be joining the class of 2013 with Summer and King being inducted posthumously. Public Enemy enters as the fourth ever hip-hop act to be inducted. All acts join Quincy Jones and Lou Adler, each of whom will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performers, as inductees on April 18th, 2013 at the Nokia Theater and set to broadcast on HBO, May 18th.

SXSW Music wants to congratulate SXSW Music 2012 distinguished speakers Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart on their acceptance into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this afternoon.
Heart cemented their classic rock stardom with songs such as "Crazy On You," "Magic Man," "Barracuda" and "Straight On", and were among the first women who worked as writers, performers and leaders of a rock band. Heart proved their staying power in the MTV era, topping charts through the '80s and '90s, and now, they're finally getting their due with this induction. Congrats!
