Richard Dorsett 1955-2012Richard Dorsett, Credit: David Fox Our dear friend and colleague Richard Dorsett suddenly passed away on Friday, October 26th in his home in Austin. Richard had been associated with SXSW for many years as a music festival submissions curator and an Assistant Production Manager, supervising the production of music festival shows.

Richard was one of the original Inner Sanctum Records clerks at the seminal Austin indie record shop during the 1970s, where his trenchant in-store commentary became the stuff of legend. His status in the history of the early punk rock/new wave scene in Austin was cemented with his arrest by the Austin Police Department during the riot that accompanied the debut appearance at Raul's of punk band The Huns, making him one of the "Huns 7."

Put Your Brand in the Hands of SXSW Performing Artists With the Artist Packet Envelope

Created by Cori on October 29, 2012

Photo Credit: Merrick Ales Access SXSW performing artists directly by branding the Artist Packet Envelope. The packet is given to every performing artist when they arrive at SXSW, and contains essential information, invitations and a loading permit. Your brand will be the sole advertising on the outside of the envelope, so your company will be the first thing artists see when they check in!

Contact Luann Williams for information on how to get involved.
