Sean Falyon - "WIN": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

For Sean Falyon, being everywhere means more than showing up at every show or party he hears about. Sure, the Philadelphia MC has made his name by remaining ubiquitous since his 2004 migration to Atlanta, but Falyon’s constant presence goes beyond appearances. His goal is to use his numerous talents to stay at the top of fans’ minds no matter where he and his trademark beard are physically located.

Heliotropes - "The Dove": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Heliotropes recently bashed everyone’s brains in at this year’s CMJ where they were listed as a top band to see via Pitchfork, Village Voice, Paper Magazine, and Brooklyn Vegan. Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, the band wields a high-intensity live show that both bludgeons and soothes -- and songs that recall the phased-out, distorted intensity of the early nineties – and invoke the lush dreamworld of Twin Peaks.” The band’s debut LP is being released on Los Angeles\'s Manimal Vinyl (Warpaint, Bat for Lashes) in spring 2013.

Andre Thierry & Zydeco Magic - "Come To Get A Dance": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Andre Thierry is a phenomenal talent who has been capturing the attention of musicians and music lovers from an early age. Born in Richmond, California into a family deeply rooted in Louisiana French-Creole history, Thierry is among the best of both the West Coast and the Gulf Coast musicians playing Zydeco music today. Andre is a virtuoso on all the accordion types, single row, double row, triple row and piano key. He effortlessly plays each instrument to deliver everything from a traditional Creole waltz to a hard driving blues that is his own sound.

Amtrac - "Came Along": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

“Amtrac, the solo project of Kentucky\'s Caleb Cornett, has just the right mixture of pop and cutting-edge sonics to break through the void. On ‘Came Along,’ Amtrac guides a rapid, crunchy beat and electric piano figures to a thoroughly mature songwriting space. He\'s restless, though. This poise quickly evolves into spliced samples flickering across the track in microtonal dots -- a true dancefloor deconstruction.\"

Kail Baxley -"Electronic Press Kit": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

KaiL Baxley grew up in the small backwater town of Williston in Barnwell County, South Carolina, the birthplace and stomping grounds of the late great soul legend James Brown, with whom KaiL shared an unlikely friendship as a child. “Yeah, James used to say, \'Boy you bein\' good?\' I’d say, \'Yes sir.\' He’d say, \'You know you doin\' wrong! Nah, show me your moves lil’ man!\' And we’d have a little dance off. I’m pretty sure he always won, ha, ha. There’s something about the groove of James Brown that has always stayed with me.”
