Kichink will present a night of exciting Latin American talent, with US debuts and rare performances.
Joining us from Mexico is Porter, an experimental indie-rock band that has become one of the most important Spanish-speaking rock artists of the last decade. Also coming from Mexico is Division Minuscula, who have enjoyed critical acclaim and a huge following both in Mexico and in the US. Similarly, LosPetitFellas have been praised for their innovative hip-hop that is taking Colombia by storm.
Also on the bill is Dënver, a synth-pop band from Chile who will be performing live for the first time in the US. This band is a mix of new pop, disco, and '70s soul. Also a blast from the past, Rebel Cats, a rockabilly band from Mexico, will be bringing their '50s rock and roll inspired sound to SXSW.
Headlining the show in a rare U.S. appearance is Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas. With a wide-range of influences and music genres, festival-goers should expect the unexpected from this powerhouse Argentinian duo.
The show starts at 8pm on Wednesday, March 12th at the North Door.
