Music Conference Spotlight: Life Beyond Music

The 2014 SXSW Music Conference

Music is a means for change. Sometimes musicians and those in the industry set out to make a difference in local, national or global communities and other times they're inspired after being in the business for a while. Either way, choosing a cause to support or creating a nonprofit on your own can seem daunting.

The 2015 SXSW Music Conference session Life Beyond Music: Making Change will tackle these issues. You'll hear speakers such as Wayne Kramer and Flaming Lips Manager Scott Booker discuss their career experiences and how they create change.

This session will answer questions such as "How did each of you end up deciding which causes to support?" and "How has working with nonprofits or charities differed from working in the music industry, culturally or practically?"
