2013 Showcasing Band, We Are The Grand

SXSW Music and Sounds From Chile will showcase a batch of fresh up-and-comers and established acts from the South American country this year at the Friends bar.

The night’s line-up includes We Are The Grand. WATG holds strong to a very contemporary style of fast-paced indie rock with skilled execution. From catchy guitar riffs to English-sung lyrics, this rock quartet takes inspiration from their North American neighbors and flips it right-side up.

Returning for another successful year here at the festival is folk-rock collective Caravana. Caravana is a highly respected group of all-star Chilean artists. There’s Fernando Milagros on guitar, Felicia Morales on cello + vocals, Pedro Piedra on bass and the internationally renown Gepe on drums. In addition to the one set, Gepe will also perform as a solo artist. Under his own moniker, he grooves listeners with his latin rhythms and energetic performances.

Come see these great musicians along with soft synthpop artist Fakuta, producer-artist Diego Peralta, and the down-to-earth rockers Protistas on Tuesday, March 12 starting at 8:00pm.
