Ogilvy to Host Blacks in Tech Meetup at SXSW on March 13

Carver_E.jpgDiversity with inclusion is one of the elements that we have worked hard to promote at the SXSW Interactive Festival. From Denise Jacobs (who has organized the "Can the Afrosphere Survive the Age of Obama?" panel) to Baratunde Thurston (who will serve as the emcee for the 12th annual Web Awards Ceremony) to Nichelle Stephens (who will be part of the "Finance 2.0: Money Management to Save this Generation" panel) as well as numerous others, the 2009 SXSW Interactive Festival will benefit from a more inclusive lineup than ever before. Come celebrate this diversity at the first-ever Blacks in Technology Meetup from 6:00-9:00 pm on Friday, March 13 at the Carver Museum and Cultural Center (1165 Angelina Street). Hosted by Ogilvy, this event is open to new media professionals as well as those who are hoping to break into this industry. In other words, no badge required to attend. Free refreshments. Also, if you want to see more programming related to diversity in technology, be sure to submit proposals related to this topic to the SXSW Panel Picker in June.
