Roge represents the new generation of artists of the Brazilian Popular Music and his sound is the face of Brazil. He moves from bossa nova to samba and reggae, with the ease of someone who composes for himself, creating a fusion of all these rhythms and bringing forth a unique sound.
He has released four solo works ("Rogê' in 2003, 'Brasil em Brasa' in 2008, 'Fala Geral' in 2010, and the brand new 'Brenguele'), and over the years sought to create sounds that synthesize the purity of each rhythm by intertwining and merging noise references. His music is so unique and appealing, a groovy kind of samba that sounds excellent.
Roge also maintains a side project with the group called ‘4 Cabeca’. They are four musicians / composers / singers who come together only for acoustic shows, using only guitars and voices. Formed by Luis Carlinhos, Baia, Gabriel Moura and Roge, this group of musicians created a CD that was awarded the 2010 Brazilian Music Award, for best group of MPB.
In 2011 Roge took his music to the USA for the very first time. He was invited to play at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX, where he had the chance to meet and play with other musicians (musician and former NY Yankees player Bernie Williams was his special guest) and also distribute his music. That also gave him the opportunity to go back to SXSW for its 2012 edition. Then, he took his band (sponsored by the brazilian federal government) and showcased twice on the festival official programming, 3 times in unofficial events.
In june 2012 Roge released his new album, BRENGUELE (particular slang, sounds like 'break-a-leg'), through Coqueiro Verde Records, full of Brazilian popular music and samba with swing, produced by the great Brazilian musician and producer KASSIN.
