Indie rock band and SXSW veterans Brazos, originally the solo project of Martin McNulty Crane, released their second album, Saltwater, on May 28, 2013. Brazos’ debut album, Phosphorescent Blues, was released in 2009 and gained positive recognition, leading them to open for notable acts like Grizzly Bear, The National, Iron & Wine, and Vampire Weekend.

Originating in Austin, TX, Crane decided to move to Brooklyn, NY, after the release of Phosphorescent Blues. After the move, he enlisted the help of local musicians to record Saltwater, which was then released on independent label Dead Oceans.

Brazos has a few more dates left in their summer tour, including a stop in Austin this Saturday, July 13, at Red 7. They will be opening for Cayucas, another SXSW 2013 act.
