Artist Central
Artist Central hosts workshops and sessions specific to the art and business of music from an artist perspective. Songwriting, playing techniques, team advisors, touring, monetizing, and group issues are all covered.

Artist Gifting Lounge
The Artist Gifting Lounge is an exclusive spot in the Convention Center for SXSW showcasing artists to take a break, enjoy refreshments, chair massages, arcade games and collect an array of sponsored gifts.
Artist Village After Dark
A convenient lounge on Sixth Street where Music Fest artists can relax and enjoy complimentary refreshments each evening during the Music Fest.

BBQ and Softball Tournament
The annual South By Southwest Closing Barbecue and Softball Tournament, the traditional closing social event of the SXSW week. Enjoy an authentic Texas BBQ spread, with all the trimmings. Free for all SXSW Music and Platinum registrants!

BBQ Crash Course
The BBQ Crash Course is a lunchtime networking event during SXSW Interactive that serves up savory brisket, ribs, and other tasty treats prepared by some of Central Texas’ expert pitmasters.

Big Bag
The Big Bag is the canvas tote bag containing conference materials that's distributed in the registration hall. Artists such as Neko Case, David Byrne, Daniel Johnston, Shepard Fairey, and Wayne Coyne provide artwork.

Block Party
The Block Party is one of the most lively elements of the Trade Show. Based on a “pub crawl” model, the Block Party gives registrants the opportunity to move between participating exhibitors who will be serving complimentary refreshments and beverages.

Located in the Northwest Corner of SXSW Trade Show, Come & Capture is a platform for manufacturers, filmmakers and app developers to showcase their new tools for capturing and creating content.

Community Meet Ups
Networking events that occur in different cities in the United States and abroad throughout the year. These Community Meet Ups provide a great opportunity to connect with SXSW staff and creative industry professionals in your city.

Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
The CLE Programs are open to all registrants. Attorneys attending may receive up to eight hours of CLE credit during SXSW Music (including one hour of ethics) and four hours of CLE credit during SXSW Film & Interactive.

Convergence Tracks
Convergence embodies some of the most unique elements of SXSW, where topics organically envelop more than one featured industry, and thus more than one festival. Any time you see an event described as Convergence, it means that event is accessible to more than one type of badge, providing a bonus learning & networking opportunity that you'll only find at SXSW. Convergence Tracks: Comedy, CLE, Future of Entertainment, Gaming, SouthBites, SXsports, SXstyle, & VR/AR.

Demo Listening Sessions
Demo Listening Sessions offer a unique opportunity for Music and Platinum registrants, as well as Showcasing Artists, to get direct feedback from music industry professionals. Producers, A&R representatives, venue buyers, and publicists will all sit in on various demo sessions.

Dewey Winburne Community Service Awards
The Dewey Winburne Community Service Awards honor Dewey Winburne, original co-founder of the SXSW Interactive Festival, by celebrating 10 community do-gooders using digital technology to help others.

Family of Events
Consisting of SXSW Music, Film & Interactive Conference & Festival, SXSW Eco Conference, SXSWedu Conference & Festival and SXSW V2V Conference the SXSW family of events makes up the entirety of the South by Southwest programing.

Film Awards
The SXSW Film Awards honor participating filmmakers and designers. Awards consist of: Narrative and Documentary Feature Jury Awards, Short Film Jury Awards, Design Awards and Special Awards.

Featured Sessions
Featured Sessions are a series of hour-long presentations that see some of the most recognizable and well respected thought leaders take the stage. Film Lounges
With locations in the Convention Center and downtown, SXSW Film Lounges grant registrants a place to relax, grab a refreshment, get caught up on some work, or network with other technology and film pros.

Film Parties
Film Parties are registrant networking events that include happy hours, parties, and late night saloons that provide refreshments and sometimes entertainment in a casual environment in downtown Austin.

Film Premieres and Screenings
Film Premieres and Screenings take place over nine days and include over 120 narrative and documentary features, as well as 100+ short films curated into 90-minute programs. The majority are World, North American or U.S. Premieres.

Film Satellite Venues
These film venues are outside the downtown footprint of the festival and are not serviced by the SXSW Festival Shuttle, but offer additional screening opportunities to our filmmakers and local film audience.

Film Venue Status Boards
We’ll be continually updating the Venue Status Boards (or VSB) in the SXSW GO App, online at vsb.sxsw.com, and at monitors in downtown venues throughout the event with the line status information for every screening at the festival.

Film Workshops
Film Workshops are conducted by experts in acting, social media, and cinematography and offer practical knowledge and inspiration while covering the latest trends in image acquisition, sound design, casting, etc.

Filmmakers in Focus
The Filmmakers in Focus Archive features interviews with the directors of SXSW featured films.

Flatstock
Flatstock is a three-day exhibition of concert posters created using varying styles, colors and techniques by the world's top gig poster artists. Works are for sale by the very artists who created them.

Flatstock Stage
This stage features intimate second plays from our official 2015 showcasing artists and is open to the general public.

Four on the Floor
SXSW Music's guide to some of the many fine acts playing at the festival. As the lineup for the SXSW Music Festival evolves, themes are created. Each blog post will highlight four SXSW Showcasing Artists that are connected by these themes. Each blog post includes an embedded SoundCloud file for each artist.

Future of Entertainment
Future of Entertainment track looks at the changing landscape of entertainment, focusing on areas like TV and episodic content, boundary-pushing digital storytelling, the cord cutting and over the top revolution and the business behind it all. Gaming Awards
The SXSW Gaming Awards honor the best studios and titles found throughout the gaming industry. The SXSW Gaming Awards highlight everything from AAA headliners to indie darlings and tabletop finest in 21 unique award categories.

Gaming Expo
The SXSW Gaming Expo is the nexus of SXSW Gaming and is home to creativity and innovation in video games, toys, comics and geek culture. This is where you’ll find the illustrious Indie Corner, Tournament Stage, and Geek Stage among several hundred booths of amazing exhibitors.

Geek Stage
The Geek Stage exemplifies the heart and soul of the SXSW Gaming experience. Covering all aspects of geek culture, the stage features content from the world of video games, comics, board games, animation, toys and more.

Grulke Prize®
The Grulke Prize® is awarded following SXSW Music to a developing US act, a developing international act, and a career act in honor of SXSW Creative Director Brent Grulke, who passed away on August 13, 2012

Guest Pass
A free credential that grants access to specific free events during SXSW week and offers chances to win prizes. The Guest Pass can be picked up at local Austin stores. The events that the Guest Pass can be used for include SXSW Gaming Expo, Flatstock 48, Music Gear Expo, SXSW Job Market, SX Create, Auditorium Shores Stage on Lady Bird Lake, and GA + SXSW Workshops.

Interactive Closing Party
The Interactive Closing Party is a can't miss event that takes place following the Interactive Innovation Awards Ceremony. It is the grand finale of the Interactive Festival.

Interactive Innovation Awards
The Interactive Innovation Awards highlight projects that push the boundaries of what’s possible in digital content and inspire the next wave of creativity in mobile/tablet apps, platforms, games, kiosks/installations, digital campaigns, websites and more. Special awards are handed out for Speaker of the Event, Digital Breakout Trend and more.

Interactive Lounges
Interactive Lounges are strategically-located, differently-themed and provide an opportunity grab a cold drink, visit with old friends, make new connections, and talk shop with other digital creatives from across the U.S. and around the world.

Interactive Opening Party
The Interactive Opening Party provides registrants a lively networking atmosphere and marks the beginning of the SXSW Interactive Conference and Festival.

Interactive Parties
SXSW Interactive hosts more than 75 official parties and evening events that provide amazing networking opportunities with digital creatives from across the United States and around the world.

Interactive Workshops
Interactive Workshops require a reservation, range in duration from two-and-a-half hours to eight hours and offer in-depth, hands-on education on a variety of subjects taught by innovative, inspiring and creative leaders.

International Day Stage Programming
SXSW showcasing artists from all over the world get a second play at the International Day Stage at the Austin Convention Center. From New Zealand indie rock to music from Africa, Japan, Mexico and everything in between.

Mentor Sessions

Music Festival Showcases
Music Festival Showcases take place during the SXSW Music Festival, generally from 8pm – 2am, hosted in a variety of venues, such as bars, clubs, parks, churches and more, throughout downtown Austin.

Music Gear Expo
The Music Gear Expo is an exhibition of musical equipment running the gamut from guitars to indie amp builders, keyboards, mics, pedals, DJ gear, music creation apps and lots more. Special features include the Deli Stompbox, the Shred Shed, the Maker Zone, Expo Store, Expo Lounge and App Annex and this year, for the first time, the John Lennon Bus.

Music Hackathon
The hackathon is 24 straight hours of buzzing, high-tech creativity as scores of hackers use their programming knowledge and our collection of music-tech APIs to develop their industry-changing prototypes and compete for the huge Grand Prize, awarded by our panel of celebrity judges. The Music Hackathon is free and open to the public with approved RSVP.

Music Parties
SXSW Music parties are incomparable networking and discovery events hosted by Lifestyle Brands, U.S. and International Territories, Record Labels, Music Publications, Broadcast Networks, Music Festivals and others.

Music Supervisor Pitch Sessions
Similar to the Demo Listening Sessions, Music Supervisor Pitch Sessions offer the same sort of feedback from licensing, sync, and music supervision experts. Get a glimpse at the viability of licensing your music for different genres of film, TV commercials and more.

The popular SXSW Radio Day Stage hosts daytime showcases at the Austin Convention Center alongside the conference sessions and features second performances by buzz artists. Curated by tastemaker radio stations.

Registrants Lounge
Take a break and grab a complimentary drink in-between a full day of sessions at the official Registrants Lounge. This hub for attendees is open to all SXSW registrants and is located in Brush Square Park across from the Austin Convention Center.

ReleaseIt
ReleaseIt at SXSW is a special pitch competition in Startup Village on the opening day of the SXSW Interactive Festival. Ten cutting-edge companies launching a new product or service will present to a panel of industry experts and a winner will be chosen based on which product or service is most likely to succeed in the marketplace.

SX Health and MedTech Expo

SXAméricas is a series of events geared to connect U.S. Latino and Latin American technology, music, and film industry thought leaders from North America, South America, Spain, and Central America.

SXcycles
SXcycles is a bike share platform offering registrants an easy to use Austin Bicycle program. Enjoy this fun transportation alternative around downtown and take a break between rides at the SXcycles lounge.

SXsocial
SXsocial is an online tool that allows SXSW registrants to search for and message other conference attendees, book / modify hotel reservations and digitally claim merch available through SXswag.

SXsports®
SXsports® is three-day Convergence track of Interactive & Film featuring panels, screenings & events, and exploring the future of sports through the SXSW lens of culture, innovation and technology.

SXSW Eco®

Through provocative programming, strategic alliances and global participation, SXSW Eco supports the communities creating a positive impact. SXSW Eco takes place in October in Austin, TX.

SXSW Festival Shuttles
Shuttles will run every 10-15 minutes. Available for all badges during operating hours these short circulating routes are designed to get you within close walking distance of most Interactive venues, Film theaters and Music events.

SXSW GO
SXSW GO is the official mobile app of SXSW. Available for download on iOS and Android.

SXSW Info Desk
Strategically located kiosks in the Convention Center and select other venues where SXSW registrants can use free computers to search SXSW schedules or ask questions of the Information Volunteers.

SXSW Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake
SXSW Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake provides three evenings of free and open to the public concerts. Registrants enjoy shuttle service from the Convention Center plus a hospitality area with beverages and bleacher seating.

SXSW Live
SXSW Live brings the event to you with performances, interviews and panel sessions from artists, filmmakers, digital creatives plus other industry heavyweights.

SXSW On
SXSW On is a network of shows embracing the spirit, look, and feel of SXSW. With year-round programming through the lens of South By®, the channel spotlights discovery featuring breaking trends, technology, culture, and the arts.

SXswag
Open to all SXSW registrants via SXsocial, SXswag is an online swag redemption service that features a selection of instantly redeemable offers - including music samplers, exclusive discounts, app downloads and other freebies.

SXSWfm®
The official online streaming radio station of SXSW, with a goal to reflect the wide spectrum of sounds you can hear when you attend the SXSW Music Festival. Hear legendary performers from throughout the history of SXSW as well as interviews, music news, live performances and content from all SXSW conferences.

SXSWeek®
The time period beginning at the start SXSW and encompasses the full span of the Music, Film & Interactive Conferences & Festivals.

SXSWorld® Magazine
SXSWorld® is the official magazine of the SXSW Conferences & Festivals and is published five times a year. Registrants are mailed a one-year subscription. Back issues may be read online.

SXSW V2V®
SXSW V2V is a four-day boutique event brings together startup and venture capital communities. It serves innovators and entrepreneurs from across all the industries including technology, music, film, fashion, health, education, sustainability, and more. SXSW V2V take place in July in Las Vegas.

SXXpress Passes
The SXXpress (South By Express) Passes are FREE to Film, Music, Gold and Platinum Badge Holders and allow you to jump to the front of the Badge Holder line for film screenings and music showcases. Rules apply.

Taco Meet Up
A Taco Meet Up is a 90-minute networking lunch serving some of Austin's best tacos & sides as curated by the Taco Journalism team.

Tournament Stage
The Tournament Stage provides a professional production of the latest trending esports, such as DOTA 2 and Ultra Street Fighter IV, at the SXSW Gaming Expo. An esport is defined as a video game played professionally by competing players, normally in a tournament environment or format.

Trade Show
The SXSW Trade Show, the exhibition for the creative industries, is the centerpiece of business at SXSW. The four-day show celebrates organizations defining the ever-evolving relationship between media, tech, creators and consumers.
