After releasing their debut EP, Human Beings, in 2011 and performing live for the first time in 2012, Pyyramids are dropping their debut full-length album, Brightest Darkest Day, on April 9. The duo of Tim Nordwind of OK Go and Drea Smith of He Say/She Say split time recording the album between Nordwind's basement and Dan Konopka of OK Go's studio. The album was mixed by Konopka and Dave Fridmann, who has also worked with The Flaming Lips and MGMT. Pyyramids performed The Beatles' "I'm So Tired" and "Dear Prudence" at the GRAMMY Museum's tribute to the Beatles in addition to two other showcases at SXSW 2013.
