Agrupación Cariño - "Espero Que Te Acuerdes De Mi": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Influenced by the romantic movement of the seventies, Agrupacion Cariño jumped to fame in 2010 as they musicalized the television series "Soy tu fan". With a diverse selection of genres, the group provokes immediate taste of what music was for our parents or grandparents. The Agrupacion Cariño appeared in 2007 seeking to revolutionize the love song with melodies such as "La salida" and "Espero que te acuerdes de mí" amongst others. Agrupación Cariño has participated in festivals such as Vive Latino 2011, Vive Grupero

I Am Dive - "Mount Eerv": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

I am Dive are not precisely a rock band, and no one is pretty sure of how possible it is to exactly describe the music these two fellows make. I am Dive is the name Esteban Ruiz (Seville, 1979) and José A. Pérez (Seville, 1972) decided to hide behind in late 2010. The band have released four Eps and a LP in less than two years ('Fall', 'I am Dive Wish Death To Everyone', 'Constellations', 'Tides' & 'Ghostwoods').

Howl - "Heavenless": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Hailing from Providence RI and formed in 2006, Howl is a thick, sludgey doom metal band made up of Vincent Hausman, Josh Durocher-Jones, Robert Icaza, and Tim St. Amour. After graduating together from Rhode Island School of Design, Hausman and St. Amour decided to focus their efforts on what had previously been a hobby, their college band. They derived their name from a Allen Ginsberg's poem "Beat Generation" and quickly began writing riff based metal, heavy enough to move earth.

His Clancyness is the solo project of Canadian-born, Italy based singer-songwriter Jonathan Clancy. His solo project started to gain recognition on the internet when he released slowed down, shoegaze inflected cover of Wavves' "So Bored" and continued to generate buzz with a series of his own catchy, dream-pop blog hits. Jonathan is the front-man of A Classic Education (Lefse) and has released splits with the likes of Shimmering Stars (Hardly Art) and the Babies (Vivian Girls/ Woods).

Lissie - "Pursuit of Happiness": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Lissie is Laurel Canyon prettiness stewed in campfire and bourbon with a big old voice to match. She caught everyone’s attention with her 2009 EP “Why You Runnin” and again with her 2010 album “Catching a Tiger.” Paste Magazine called the Rock Island, Ill.-born Lissie the “Best New Solo Artist of 2010” and the BBC said “Give the girl a second and she’ll steal your heart.” Lissie is finishing recording her second album and will release it in 2013.

The singer-songwriter and body percussionist Lu Horta was a part of the creation of the body percussion group Barbatuques. Parallel to her work with Barbatuques, she knows how to shine on her own on stage. In 2003 she released her first solo CD called \"Lu Horta\". In 2009 she has released her second work: \"Paraíso Eu\". \"A Noiva da Cidade\" (2013) is her new project that reflects the maturity of her work as a composer and interpreter.

Luke Sital-Singh - "Fail For You": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

“Good music”, says Luke Sital-Singh, “should lock your feet and jaw to the floor”. On the evidence of the four beautifully crafted tracks that have emerged so far, such a feat should not be a problem for the hotly-tipped London troubadour. 24-year-old Luke was born in the South West London town of New Malden, home place of folk legend John Martyn. The youngest of 3 brothers, Luke’s parents encouraged their sons to pick up musical instruments from an early age. Luke started on the violin aged 11 but soon picked up his brother’s guitar and has never looked back.

Manic Sheep is a band which formed in 2009 in Taipei, Taiwan. The band most lineup consists of Chris Lo(vocals, bass, synths), Scott Hsieh (guitar) and Jocelyn Kang (Drum).The original member was five, their earlier musical output was often labelled electro-pop, after some members left ,they have since moved into shoegaze and noise rock.

MC Frontalot - "Stoop Sale": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

The original mastermind of Nerdcore Hip-Hop and still its Final Boss, MC Frontalot (nee Damian Hess) takes great pleasure in identifying himself as a professional rapper in polite conversation. Frontalot has released five albums, tours nationally and internationally with his live band (Bl4k Lotus, Vic-20, and The Sturgenius), and was the subject of the 2008 documentary feature Nerdcore Rising.
