Palm Top Theater is an iPhone attachment that literally places the 3D experience in the palm of your hand. A digital-age mash-up of the pre-cinema Pepper's Ghost technique (familiar most recently from the Tupak Shakur hologram at Coachella 2012), Palm Top Theater makes it possible to easily create and view 3D video and interactive apps without special equipment or headgear.
Artist collaborations include vocaloid Hatsune Mike, as well as One Little Indian’s release of Bjork’s “Moon” for the Palm Top Theater.
The patented technology displays iPhone videos on 3 half-mirrors, which create overlapping images for a 3D effect. Palm Top Theater provides a free After Effects plug-in that makes it easy to create compatible videos.
