Spotlight on the SXSW Accelerator Pitch Event [Video]
The SXSW Accelerator® Pitch Event returns for its ninth edition to showcase some of the most exciting tech innovations – could your company be one?
Taking place at SXSW Startup Village at the Hilton Austin Downtown on Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12, this event provides an outlet for companies to present their product from one of 10 different categories to a panel of industry experts, early adopters, and representatives from the angel/VC community.
Over the years, we launched our platform for finalists to showcase their great ideas with the goal of matching them with top investors both nationally and internationally. From 2009 to 2016, 71% of all 353 finalists received over $3.1 billion in funding, and 14% were acquired by Fortune 500 companies.
Many contribute significantly to the success of SXSW Accelerator. The Advisory Board lend their industry expertise as they evaluate hundreds of applications and help determine the companies that will present in March. The Qualifying Committee focuses on the intake of all plans submitted and is responsible for validating the applications for accuracy, completeness, veracity, and proper categorization. With their vast experience, Coaches work closely with the finalists in the months leading up to the event to assist them in their onstage presentations. On-site Coaches work with the finalists as they rehearse their presentation on Friday, March 10.
Past judges have included Tim Draper (DFJ), John Sculley (Apple/Pepsi), Tim O'Reilly (O'Reilly Media), Paul Graham (Y Combinator), Naval Ravikant (AngelList), Guy Kawasaki (Alltop), Chris Sacca (Lowercase Capital), Chris Hughes (New Republic/Facebook), Bob Metcalfe (Ethernet/3Com), and many more industry experts.
