SXSW Pitch to Showcase the Future of Emerging Technology

The eleventh annual SXSW Pitch (formerly SXSW Accelerator) Presented by Cyndx kicks off tomorrow, March 9, at 9:30 a.m. in Salon D/E on the 4th floor at the Hilton Austin Downtown.

This year’s event will feature 50 interactive technology companies competing in 10 categories before judges that include William Bao Bean, General Partner at SOSV and the Managing Director of Chinaccelerator; Stacy Feld, Vice President of Consumer Venture Investments and External Innovation at Johnson & Johnson Innovation; and whurley, founder and CEO of Strangeworks.

Tomorrow’s pitches will be from 25 companies in the following categories: Transportation & Delivery, Social & Culture, Enterprise & Smart Data, Augmented & Virtual Reality, and Hyper-Connected Communities.

The competition continues on Sunday, March 10, starting at 9:30 a.m. in Salon D/E. The remaining 25 companies will pitch from the following categories: Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Sports & Performance Data, Entertainment & Content, and Health & Wearables.

The winner of each category will be announced at the SXSW Pitch Award Ceremony 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Salon H on the 6th floor. The ceremony will be hosted by Andrew Hyde, Head of Community at Origin Protocol, and Lisandra Rickards, Chief Entrepreneurship Officer at Branson Centre Caribbean.
