Austin Convention Center, EH2 | 2nd & Trinity

Located inside the Austin Convention Center, the Vimeo Theater is at the heart of the Conference and Festival and will host screenings and Film Keynote sessions. It’s our 2nd largest venue and is within walking distance of Alamo Ritz, Stateside and Paramount Theatres and Violet Crown Cinema. Snacks and bar available at a nearby kiosk.

The striking Topfer Theatre is the latest addition to the 78 year old ZACH and will host red carpet premieres and more. Handily located on the SXSW Festival Shuttle route, it's also a brief walk from the Violet Crown Cinema, Rollins Theatre and Alamo Lamar. Snacks and bar available at this venue.

The Ritz is an intimate, two screen theater located on 6th Street in the heart of Austin’s club district, only a few blocks away from the Austin Convention Center. It’s a great venue but the screenings fill up fast, so plan to arrive extra early to ensure you get in. Full menu and bar available at this venue.

The newly renovated Alamo Lamar will host three different screens for the duration of the festival, so plenty of chances to catch must-see films here. Full menu and bar available at this venue.

The VCC offers intimate screenings and a lounge which features dining tables and wait service. Their Bar & Café offers a full cocktail bar, including an extensive beer and wine list as well as an array of appetizers. Visit the cinema to enjoy a drink or a snack whether seeing a movie or not.

Further enhancing the wider SXSW Film experience, just north of downtown Austin reside the Marchesa Theatre. Newly refurbished, the venue features a large lobby for post-screening discussions. It is also the year-round home of the Austin Film Society. Snacks and bar available at this venue.

SXSW Festival Shuttles

Get to know the SXSW Shuttle routes in relation to our downtown Film Venues in the video below.

The SXSW Festival Shuttle is free to Film, Gold and Platinum registrants and runs two circuit routes servicing most of the Film Festival Venues from Friday, March 13 - Saturday, March 21. The shuttle start times vary each day and by route, sometimes beginning earlier, but are always available between 10:30am and 2:30am.

Catch the shuttle from Trinity Street outside of Exhibit Hall 2 at the Austin Convention Center to quickly get to your next screening. Shuttles leave every 10-15 minutes and stop within a close walking distance of most Film venues.
