The Chronolog is ready to hook you up with the tunes of Austin local and regional bands performing at this weekends’ Fun Fun Fun Fest. Hosts Chase Hoffberger and Kevin Curtin from the Austin Chronicle have put together a killer playlist guaranteed to get you in the mood for all things fun. The SXSWfm radio show will feature the musical stylings of Big Boys, Iron Age, The Young, Spraypaint, Boyfrndz, and many more.
The playlist will also include music of Fun Fun Fun Fest’s must-see Phranchyze and his new album 3. Pronounced like “franchise,” Phranchyze has been making his presence known since he made it to the finals of the 2007 World Rap Championships in NYC, taking home third place. In 2011, he was named Best Hip Hop Artist/DJ at the annual Austin Music Awards. Now, Phranchyze is excited to return to his home turf, Austin, to share his new music.
In non-Fun Fun Fun Fest news, we're excited about Tele Novella's new 7". They have a record release show at Hotel Vegas next Tuesday. From the ashes of Voxtrot’s breakup, Jason Chronis and Matt Simon have combined forces with Agent Ribbons to form four-piece band Tele Novella. This indie-pop band's 7” was released this past Tuesday, November 5th, featuring “Don’t Be A Stranger” and “No Excalibur”. Making a stop in their hometown Austin, Tele Novella are currently on their US tour and will come out with a full-length album in 2014.
Tune in to the Chronolog on SXSWfm every Thursdays at 12 and 6 CST to learn more about the bands making Austin proud. Click here to listen to the stream now on your mobile device or desktop.
