The Creek and The Cave has made New York City funnier; dubbed "the deserving gem of the Queens comedy scene" by TimeOut New York, The Creek's stellar programming and warm atmosphere have made it a favorite place for both fans and performers. Since 2007, owner Rebecca Trent has been highlighting exciting, emerging and established comics, and this year she's bringing a bit of New York to Austin with two standup showcases, The Creek and The Cave Presents.

The Creek is more than a comedy club (and it's more than a comedy club with a full-service restaurant and cozy bar attached); the two floor space is a home base for dozens of comics who celebrate holidays, birthdays and milestones at the theater. It's also a required stop for festivals and industry insiders searching for up and coming talent.  Hailed by The New York Times as both "a kind of speakeasy for comedy" and "a safe harbor in an often brutal business," The Creek's stage is a welcome home to experimental new shows—from performers like Colin Quinn and James Adomian—and well-known weekly offerings, like The Regulars, a lineup of the city's brightest acts. At SXSW Comedy's The Creek and The Cave Presents shows, curated by Trent, you'll have a chance to see some of the theater's frequently featured standups, including:

Nate Bargatze - Tennessee native Bargatze, who released his debut album last year, has been featured on late night, Live at Gotham, and his own Comedy Central Presents.

Emily Heller - Host of several acclaimed NYC standup shows, Heller is 1/3 of the Baby Geniuses podcast and can be seen on John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show.

Eddie Pepitone - Subject of acclaimed documentary The Bitter Buddha, Pepitone is one of comedy's loudest, most original voices (and one of Twitter's, too).

Andrew Short - As heard on Sirius XM, Short is a  regular host at The Creek and an alum of the San Francisco Sketch Fest, the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Fest, and more.

Nick Turner - Named one of Just For Laughs' New Faces of Comedy in 2011, Turner is a current Best Week Ever cast member and the host of Nick Turner and Acquaintances (which you can also catch at SXSW Comedy).

You'll have two chances to catch The Creek and The Cave Presents at SXSW Comedy:
