In the coming weeks the full SXSW Comedy lineup will be released and whether you've got a Platinum, Gold, Music, Film or Interactive badge, you've got access to everything. While we put the finishing touches on the final schedule, here's some basic info on when and where you can catch comedy during SXSW:
Comedy at SXSW
If you’ve got a SXSW badge, you’ve got access to SXSW Comedy events. Get ready for dozens of shows during the 2013 conference, from live podcasts to stand up showcases, plus panels, parties, and more. Most events will be held during the SXSW Film and Interactive conferences (March 9-12), with special nightly performances through SXSW Music (March 13-16).
It's a big month for new albums from SXSW Comedy alumni, especially for Anthony Jeselnik, Amy Schumer, Chris Hardwick, and Eugene Mirman, who all have new Comedy Central specials. And thanks to this handy little widget (seen below), you can preview them all!
Long time SXSW Super Sponsor IFC is back and they are bringing their "Always On - Slightly Off" sense of humor with them as presenters of the newest official Comedy Stage of SXSW 2013. The network that has brought you countless side-splitting shows like Portlandia, The Whitest Kids U'Know and Comedy Bang! Bang! will be delivering four days of comedy from the IFC Crossroads House, located at Vice bar on 6th Street.
This week, Comedy Central is premiering Kroll Show, a new half hour sketch series from stand-up, actor, writer, improviser, SXSW Comedy alumni and all-around comedy genius Nick Kroll. You might recognize Kroll as Ruxin on The League, or from his appearances on Conan, Comedy Central, and John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show. Or you might know one of the alter egos – Bobby Bottleservice, El Chupacabra, Gil Faizon, Fabrice Fabrice – from his special Thank You Very Cool and from Comedy Bang Bang.
