Amazing Startup Austin Programming Scheduled for SXSW Interactive 2014

Startup Austin programming is part of Startup Village 2014

As part of Startup Village SXSW Interactive has created Startup Austin, a series of sessions that highlight the Austin local entrepreneur and investor community. These sessions will all be held at the Board Room of the Austin Chamber of Commerce (located at 535 E. 5th St, inside the Downtown Austin Hilton). These sessions will run from Saturday March 8 through Tuesday March 11.

Learn about the latest and the great in the city’s tech world by attending these Startup Austin sessions. Some of the Startup Austin sessions for the 2014 SXSW Interactive Festival include:

  • Austin, Texas: A City With a Soul. Cities “come of age”, just like people do. Austin was once one of the best-kept secrets in America, but now the secret is out and tens of thousands of people are pouring into Austin each year. How is the flood of new influences into the city affecting Austin culture? Learn from a diverse and seasoned panel of Austinites what they love about Austin and how each of us can help preserve the diverse culture and soul of the city that we love so much.

  • Culture & Business: How to Create Culture Envy. Research has shown that positive Culture yields positive attitudes, but it's something you can't buy. Business owners and managers from four successful companies in Austin will host a lively dialogue to equip your business with tools to encourages your team, enhances your brand, and motivates everyone to excel.

  • Longhorn Startup Showcase. Hosted by the University of Texas at Austin, this fast-pitch competition is created for student startups. Five finalists with revolutionary ideas looking to fund their innovations will present to a hometown panel of corporate, angel, and venture investor judges. 

  • Startup Grind: What Makes Austin a Startup Hub. The Austin Chapter of Startup Grind will present three diverse views of why the city is uniquely positioned as a strong startup community. With perspectives from the City of Austin, an economic development consultant from TIP Strategies and the CEO of Stormpulse, a tech company that relocated to Austin.
