Coming off a first-time Bumbershoot performance and several other US shows, three-time SXSW showcasing band BRONCHO returned to Austin over the weekend for a concert at Stubb's. The four-piece garage-punk band hails from Oklahoma and wrapped up their September tour dates here in Texas, rounding out things at Fitzgerald's in Houston on Sunday night.
Having recently re-released their 2011 debut LP, Can't Get Past the Lips, on Fairfax Recordings, the boys are now working on a sophomore follow up. Most of the new recordings were done at Texas' own Sonic Ranch Recording Studio complex located roughly 30 miles outside of El Paso in Tornillo. Post-September tour dates, BRONCHO plans to return to Oklahoma to work on finalizing the record for the remainder of September and throughout October until they jump back on the road in November. You can check out a full list of tour dates here.
The new album is projected to release in January at which time the band plans to embark on a promotional tour with hopes of swinging through Austin for SXSW 2014. Tune into The Backbeat this week to hear a full interview with BRONCHO frontman, Ryan Lindsey.
