About Austin Music Awards

The Austin Music Awards honors our local music community, recognizing Austin artists who have made an impact in recording and performance over the course of the year during the annual SXSW. Over the years the Austin Music Awards have recognized a variety of artists including: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Spoon, Riders Against the Storm, White Denim, Miss Lavelle White, Gary Clark Jr., Lucinda Williams, Alejandro Escovedo, and Asleep at the Wheel. The Austin Music Awards benefit the SIMS Foundation.

In addition to music-specific categories, the Austin Music Awards honor industry-specific categories such as Best New Club, Best Music Booker, and Best Music Support Nonprofit.

Community voting via the Austin Music Poll for the next Austin Music Awards will begin early 2017.
