“I am one of these people that really believes that we are all here today as a physical manifestation of a larger conspiracy of love...We are a nation that was not founded because we all look alike, spoke the same language or prayed alike. And in fact, we know, we’ve had ugly divisions in our country, fearsome conflicts, but there has been a spirit that has still found a way to reach beyond that and to manifest a glorious triumphant love,” said SXSW Interactive Opening Speaker, Cory Booker, on Friday, March 10, at the 2017 SXSW Conference.

The New Jersey Senator and former Newark Mayor has established himself as an innovative and bipartisan problem-solver committed to developing collaborative solutions that address some of our most complex challenges. Booker's opening remarks focused on the general themes of love and the hope of our nation. In the second half of this Featured Session, Booker talks with Malika Saada Saar, Senoir Counsel on Civil & Human Rights at Google, followed by an audience Q&A.
