2017 SXSW Featured Speaker – Intelligent Future Track
As Founder and CEO of Bumble, Whitney Wolfe helms one of the fastest- growing mobile apps in the world. In less than 2 years, her strategic vision has led to Bumble’s growth of nearly 10 million users and has singlehandedly disrupted the way people connect online and off.
Wolfe’s mission for Bumble was simple: create a female-first platform grounded in positive behavior, which would strive to fix the broken system surrounding antiquated gender norms when it comes to connecting. Too much of the online ecosystem had become infected with abuse and bullying, and Wolfe was driven to create something different, something healthy and something committed to fostering meaningful connections between individuals. Despite the many skeptics, Wolfe debuted Bumble in 2014 as the only dating platform where women had to make the first move.
Adoption of Bumble was explosive and in addition to a rapidly growing user base, the company recently celebrated the 100,000,000th first move made by a woman.
