SXSW sponsors, exhibitors, and sales clients (collectively, Sponsors) may ask to scan the QR barcode on your credential for lead retrieval, which is a mobile application for capturing and processing sales leads generated at a SXSW event (Lead Retrieval).
Participating in Lead Retrieval is entirely voluntary and is not required for badge authentication or SXSW event entry. SXSW uses RFID for those purposes, which you can learn more about by visiting https://www.sxsw.com/rfid/.
Sponsors use the app, SXSW Expo, for Lead Retrieval and must obtain your consent before scanning your credential. Sponsors agree to not resell the data collected from you through Lead Retrieval. The information collected by Sponsors about you during a Lead Retrieval scan is as follows:
- Full Name
- Company Name
- Job Title
- Match_interest
- Subject_interest
- Summary
- Email Address (if available)
- Phone Number (if available)
The information collected by Sponsors using Lead Retrieval reflects the information you supply to SXSW during your credential registration process. As part of creating your customized SXSW credential, SXSW includes your information in your credential QR code.
