Rosario Dawson will talk about engaging millennials at SXSW 2014

Creating conditions that help improve the social good continues to be a big focus at the 2014 SXSW Interactive Festival. Amongst those who will devote their expertise to this topic is veteran actress Rosario Dawson, who will present on the topic Star Power: Innovative Ways to Engage Millennials.

Best known to legions of fans for her work in such films as Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse and Robert Rodriguez’s adaptation of Frank Miller’s Sin City, Dawson has garnered praise for her numerous leading roles with today’s hottest film actors and directors, making her one of Hollywood’s most sought after leading ladies.

She is also heavily involved in civic engagement as evidenced by the non-partisan organization she co-founded in 2004, Voto Latino, which works to promote an enfranchised America by leveraging celebrity voices, the latest technology and youth themselves to promote positive change. A native New Yorker, Dawson currently resides in Los Angeles.

Her “Star Power” session at SXSW 2014 will cover innovative approaches to millennial engagement such as leveraging celebrity voices and platforms. Dawson will also address why new technologies and culturally relevant messaging are critical for impacting the social behavior of the nation’s fastest growing demographic.
