Twenty-nine year old SXSW Interactive Opening Keynote speaker Casey Gerald just might have it all figured out… or at least more than the rest of us did by his age. On Friday, March 11, he appeared on the SXSW Interactive stage in Dell Hall of the Long Center to deliver a Gospel of Doubt and share an inspirational message hinging on the questions, “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” and “How do we create a country where everybody’s got a shot?”
The Founder of MBA’s Across America is a charismatic storyteller, able to draw an audience in and motivate them to make the changes they desire to see. “Challenges are too big to wait for some central authority to give you permission,” he remarked. Gerald argues that there is a new playbook for change. That doing good over doing well will wake a dying world from it’s slumber and bring about a recalibration driven by creativity and the people who practice it. In short, it’s time to give a damn.
