Priscilla Chan’s Vision for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative at SXSW 2019 [Video]

During her Featured Session at SXSW 2019, Priscilla Chan highlighted her ongoing projects and vision for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, a philanthropic organization founded by her and her husband, Mark Zuckerberg. The former teacher and pediatrician opened up on stage in a candid conversation with CNN Anchor Poppy Harlow about her past and her goals for making the world a better place through her work.

As Chan describes it, too often the people who understand our most pressing challenges never get to partner with those who may be able to help accelerate change through technology. She aims to solve this by pairing technologists with people on the front lines facing issues such as disease prevention, lack of resources in education, and more. Chan's message echoes loud and clear to the SXSW audience; technology alone can't solve the world's problems, but by working together, we can solve real issues.

"The deepest moments of learning come from real moments of connection." - Priscilla Chan
