I wanted to follow up on my previous post on the Startup Austin track. But, for today, let's look forward to March 2014 programming via the lens of PanelPicker entries. Doing a quick PanelPicker search for proposals that include "startup austin" as a tag, there are 23 total found results. As one might expect, the most represented topic within these 23 found results pertain to education and technology.
Amongst these 23 found results is a proposal from Nathan Green titled Future of Education for Austin Technology, which merges both technology and education and focuses on how local schools will adapt their education to the needs of the city's workforce. This session goes beyond its Austin focus and could help shed light on an issue shared among growing cities.
Another intriguing PanelPicker proposal comes from Bijoy Goswami -- his entry is titled Austin: Home to the Journey Entrepreneur. Focusing on the many ways to create a startup, Goswami aims to share the path that has worked for him by revealing the tools, experiences and mistakes that have lead him to his success.
Some other excellent PanelPicker ideas tagged as Startup Austin focus on media, health and non-profits. Susan Lahey wants to host a showdown between media based startups where seasoned reporters, publishers and editors judge whether the company is ready to launch during the Austin Startup Media Pitch Competitions. Likewise, the folks from TechRanch proose a discussion on the New World of Healthcare that will come about with the transition from the Industrial age to the Information age.
These 23 Startup Austin entries are a reflection of the changing and growing culture of Austin and we want you all to come and see what Central Texas is making a name for itself. If you want to weigh in on your favorite of these proposals, then please go to the SXSW PanelPicker and vote before the end of the day on Friday, September 6.
We hope to see you at the third annual Startup Austin sessions that are part of Startup Village at the 2014 SXSW Interactive Festival. These Startup Austin sessions occur on Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9 at the Board Room of the Austin Chamber of Commerce. Located at 535 East 5th Street, the Board Room of the Austin Chamber resides within the Hilton Austin Downtown, but has its own dedicated elevator that can be reached through the 5th Street entrance.
