Earlier this week, we wrote that robots are expected to receive a lot of attention at the 2016 SXSW Interactive Festival. While this prediction stems from a growing industry trend toward automation, it also reflects one of the most popular talks from the 2015 event — the keynote presentation from Martine Rothblatt. Author of the book Virtually Human: The Promise and the Peril of Digital Humans, she is an expert on artificial intelligence and an accomplished businesswoman who currently serves as the CEO of United Therapeutics.

Rothblatt’s fascinating keynote conversation with Lisa Miller of New York Magazine about robots, artificial intelligence and a number of other relevant topics was incredibly well received by 2015 registrants — so much so that she received the prestigious “Speaker of the Event” award. If you didn’t catch her live and in person last spring in Austin, then watch the video of her incredible keynote. After you have viewed that 57-minute recording, then check out Rothblatt's short but equally insightful interview with Australian futurist Cat Matson (also captured at SXSW 2015).

Who will keynote the 2016 SXSW Interactive Festival? Stay tuned to the SXSW website in the coming weeks for complete details.

Also, make sure to purchase your 2016 registration today to take advantage of the early-bird rates with savings of 35% off the walkup rate.
