Hip-Hop Artist WebsterX Delivers Energetic Performance at SXSW 2016

Milwaukee-based hip-hop artist Sam Ahmed, known by his stage name WebsterX, brought a truly fun and energetic set to the Surefire Live showcase at North Door at SXSW Music 2016.

WebsterX’s career began when he released his first mixtape, titled Desperate Youth, in 2013. While making a name for himself on Milwaukee’s music scene these last few years, Ahmed has received national press from the likes of Complex, Noisey, Pigeons & Planes, and more, and performed with Mick Jenkins, Atmosphere, and Lupe Fiasco, among others. The future is bright for WebsterX, also a member of Milwaukee artist collective New Age Narcissism.

Watch above as WebsterX, flanked by percussionists and back-up singers, gets the crowd moving (and eventually into a circle pit towards the end!). You can also view other performances from Meishi Smile, NoMBe, and Dengue Dengue Dengue from the Surefire Live showcase at SXSW 2016.
