SXsports runs March 7-9, 2014 in Austin

Maybe no segment of media changes as quickly as sports media does. Perhaps it’s because of the passion sports creates in individuals and the tools that are readily (and cheaply) available to the average fan, the media landscape of sports is constantly evolving. At SXsports, several sessions will explore this constantly shifting industry.

Los Angeles Dodgers part-owner, Golden State Warriors Co-Executive Chairman and CEO of Mandalay Sports Entertainment Peter Guber kicks off SXsports with a discussion on how to create enterprise value in sports media. While on Saturday, March 8, SXsports will feature two of the brightest minds in sports media when Grantland creator Bill Simmons and FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver talk about the growing trend towards personal branding in media.

Also at SXsports, there will be a discussion on how 24-hour sports networks like ESPN, NBC Sports Network and Fox Sports 1 work in today’s digital age of bite-sized, disposable content. Both FOX Sports President Eric Shanks and NBC Sports President of Programming Jon Miller will speak on the panel.

And last but not least, yours truly will host a Sports Media Meet Up as a part of the SXsports programming. To take in all the great content SXsports has to offer, including select SXsports film screenings to be announced soon, you’ll need a SXSW Interactive, Film, Gold or Platinum badge, so register today.
