SXSW 2014 Band: The Front Bottoms

The Backbeat was excited to announce two official SXSW showcases for the 2014 event on today's show. In case you missed this week's block, here's a recap of those.

Firstly, northeast-based record labels Bar/None Records and Old Flame Records will join forces to present a night of toe-tapping rock music on Friday, March 14th at Valhalla. Old Flame will present the first half of the night with Boston quartet Mean Creek, ATL garage rockers Turf War, and all-girl punk band Potty Mouth. The second half of the night will be comprised of Bar/None acts, including ambient duo Eros and the Eschaton, Oakland's Ezra Furman, and indie punk band The Front Bottoms.

We're also happy to announce Norway Night, a showcase co-hosted by Norwegian label Brilliance Records and Oslo based label/management company Jansen Plateproduksjon. You can roll over to Rainey Street on Friday, March 14th to see the showcase at Icenhauer's. The bill will be comprised mainly of rock and pop acts, including two Backbeat favorites, blues rock group Atlanter and the 60s inspired garage rock band Death By Unga Bunga. Also on the bill: Dråpe, Intertwine, Maya Vik, and Highasakite.
