Mr. Robot world premiered at SXSW Film in the Episodics category and ran for four seasons on the USA Network, winning both Golden Globe and Emmy awards. It also brought attention (and an Emmy) to Rami Malek prior to his Best Actor Oscar-winning role in Bohemian Rhapsody. Slater had a key supporting role in the show, although when the show debuted, he was probably the highest-profile cast member due to his three-decade career in television and film. The following year, USA Network commissioned an activation that fans could visit in downtown Austin which re-created the show's Coney Island midway setting.
